The centre barrier has a machine that lifts and moves it across two lanes morning and evening giving a 3-5 lane split in peak hours (5 south bound in the morning and 5 north in the evening), with. 4 - 4 split off peak

Father Christmas - with a long history

This Father Christmas was originally on the Farmers building in Hobson street. I don't know for how long but it was there in 1976 when I moved to Auckland. When the Farmers closed mid 1990's it ended up in storage only to be restored and put in Queen street in recent times. One of his eyes used to wink and his finger moved but I think maybe this was thought too sleazy for modern day Santa.

Lightly smoked grilled fish fillet on a fish chowder with a poached egg on top. West Plaza Wellington. Actually it was damn  delicious and quite filling on a freezing Wellington evening.
