Some like my grandfather (pictured with last night’s sunset) caught
pneumonia (as a result of the huge flu epidemic), returned to NZ, and then died

Nice post. Brings home the reality of those times and the longstanding impact of the loss of soldiers not only to a country, but to their families. Isn't it good that Remembrance Days remain important across the globe.
